Hello world!

Welcome to my “first” post. I have blogged off and on for a few years but when I followed my heart, got married, and had our first child blogging took a temporary backseat. Now, I am leaping head first into my dreams of working for myself as an event planner. Formerly known as ‘Lark Creations’ I am re-launching my blog (and company) as ‘A Lark Creation.’ Here you will find my journey of starting a business, mixing work and motherhood, party ideas, planning tips and tricks, and so much more. To start off, I will go a little more in depth about who I am and what I love.

I’ve always been the planner among my friends and family. As soon as someone mentioned they were throwing a birthday/engagement/bachelorette party or wedding my brain immediately goes into overdrive of how to plan it (Often giving unrequested advice). I adored ‘Gilmore Girls’ growing up and based my “what-to-do-when-I-grow-up” decision around the Dragon Fly Inn that Lorelai Gilmore owned and operated with her best friend and chef, Sookie. I dreamed of having an inn on a beautiful, garden-filled lot where life’s social events could take place. I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for nearly ten years and every professional, and sometimes personal, decision I have made has been strategically chosen to get me one step closer to this goal.

Creating relationships has always been my foundation to conduct business. I love working with people and being with the customer. I prefer to stay busy and be in a constant flow. I love doing a job where the final outcome is somebody having a great night out at an event, an amazing meal, or a profitable fundraiser. Contact me to learn more about how I can assist you in creating a fun and memorable social occasion.
