Poplar Grove Plantation

Poplar Grove Plantation is a wonderful setting for a southern-filled outdoor wedding. The entire property boasts an old plantation farm feel and laid back atmosphere that I love so much!

Poplar Grove Plantation is one of North Carolina’s oldest peanut plantations and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Poplar Grove has continuously been gaining popularity among Wilmington NC Wedding Venues especially for the outdoor wedding experience. This property is perfect for a rustic affair.

Some of the beautiful features include a massive oak tree in the middle of the property that makes for an incredible backdrop as well as a lovely gazebo, cabin, and two barns. Your photographer will enjoy all of the barns and older wood structures. A lovely unique feature of Poplar Grove for weddings is that they can place rustic farm doors out on the lawn that stand alone. A picture-perfect entrance for any bride.

In addition to these there is the main plantation house.  It has a classic look and feel and  makes for a classic southern wedding backdrop. I love visiting this venue every single time I vacation to Wilmington!

Poplar Grove Plantation also makes a great place for bridal portraits and engagement sessions. The property is vast and depending on the season, you will find a palette of natural colors and vegetation to enhance your pictures. Attached to the property is a nature trail and a walking bridge over a small lake you can also use for portrait sessions.

I cannot say this enough, Poplar Grove is a great place if you are looking for an outdoor wedding venue with a historical feel and rustic notes. For more information on booking this venue, contact Chistina Fennell.
